Ume-Habiba

Ms. Ume Habiba is a psychologist, educator, and emerging researcher specializing in Clinical Psychology, with a strong commitment to advancing psychological science, evidence-based practice, and quality higher education. She is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Rasul and is pursuing her PhD in Psychology. She holds an MPhil in Psychology and has distinguished herself academically as a Gold Medalist.

With around five years of experience in higher education, Ms. Habiba has taught across Psychology and related disciplines. Her teaching interests encompass Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Behavioral Psychology, Mental Health, Psychological Assessment, and related areas. She is particularly committed to fostering critical thinking, research competence, clinical reasoning, and the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical psychological applications among students.

Her research interests span developmental psychology, mental health and psychological well-being, identity development, social media and its psychological implications, adolescent and adult mental health, and culturally relevant psychological assessment. She has a particular interest in psychometric research and the development and validation of psychological assessment instruments suited to the cultural context of Pakistan. Her research work reflects her broader commitment to understanding contemporary psychological challenges through rigorous, culturally informed, and evidence-based approaches. Her areas of professional interest include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches, marital and relationship interventions, brief psychological interventions, and psychological assessment.
