The Department of English at The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin is committed to academic excellence in the fields of English Language, Literature, Linguistics, and Applied Language Studies. The Department offers a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment where students develop critical thinking, analytical abilities, effective communication skills, and a deep appreciation of literary and cultural traditions. Established with the vision of becoming a center of excellence in English Studies, the Department follows the Higher Education Commission (HEC) curriculum guidelines and adopts an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach. The BS English program is designed to equip students with contemporary knowledge in areas such as English Literature, Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Corpus Linguistics, Pragmatics, Translation Studies, Postcolonial Literature, and emerging interdisciplinary fields including Artificial Intelligence and English Studies. The Department is supported by a qualified and research-oriented faculty dedicated to teaching, mentoring, and scholarly engagement. In addition to regular classroom instruction, students are encouraged to participate in research projects, seminars, workshops, debates, literary activities, and co-curricular programs that enhance their academic and professional growth. With modern learning facilities, including a developing Language and Corpus Analysis Lab, the Department aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional communication skills. Our graduates are prepared for careers in education, research, media, publishing, civil services, corporate communication, translation, and other language-related professions, as well as for advanced studies at national and international institutions.
