Dr. Mudasar Jahan Associate Professor & Chairperson, Department of English The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin Dr. Mudasar Jahan is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of English at The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin. She is an accomplished academic, researcher, and educational leader with a strong commitment to excellence in English language studies, linguistics, literature, and innovative teaching practices. With specialization in Functional Linguistics, World Englishes, Pragmatics, Gender and Language, Corpus Studies, and Discourse Analysis, Dr. Jahan’s academic interests reflect contemporary developments in language research and interdisciplinary studies. Her work focuses on exploring the relationship between language, society, identity, and communication through modern analytical approaches. As Chairperson of the Department of English, she has played a significant role in academic development, curriculum enhancement, quality assurance, and the promotion of research culture. Under her leadership, the department has advanced its academic programs in accordance with Higher Education Commission (HEC) guidelines and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles, emphasizing student-centered learning, critical thinking, and professional development. Dr. Jahan has actively contributed to curriculum design, course development, academic planning, and departmental initiatives aimed at creating a dynamic learning environment. She has also promoted emerging areas of English studies, including Corpus Linguistics, Artificial Intelligence and English Studies, professional communication, and technology-enhanced language learning. Beyond academic responsibilities, she has served in administrative leadership roles, including Director Student Affairs, where she has contributed to student support services, scholarships, societies, extracurricular engagement, and institutional development initiatives. Dr. Jahan believes that education is a transformative force that empowers individuals to think critically, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to society. Her vision is to establish the Department of English as a center of excellence in literature, linguistics, language studies, research, and global engagement, producing graduates equipped with knowledge, creativity, and professional competence.
