The Department of English at The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin is dedicated to fostering academic excellence, intellectual inquiry, and professional development through the study of English Language, Literature, Linguistics, and Applied Language Studies. The Department offers a contemporary BS English programme designed in accordance with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan curriculum and guided by the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The curriculum integrates classical and contemporary literary studies with modern linguistic theories and emerging interdisciplinary fields, including Corpus Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Translation Studies, Pragmatics, Digital Humanities, and Artificial Intelligence in English Studies, enabling students to acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. Supported by a team of highly qualified and research-oriented faculty members, the Department emphasizes academic rigor, innovation, and lifelong learning. Eligibility Criteria for Admission in BS English Candidates seeking admission to the BS English (Language & Literature) program must fulfill the following eligibility requirements: Academic Qualification: Applicants must have successfully completed Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS/I.Com) or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board/Institution. Minimum Marks Requirement: Candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in Intermediate or equivalent qualification as per the admission policy of The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin. Subject Requirement: Candidates from all academic backgrounds are eligible to apply. Students with a background in Humanities, English Literature, or Social Sciences may find the program particularly beneficial. Admission Criteria: Admission will be granted on the basis of academic merit according to the approved admission policy of the University. No entry test is required for admission to the BS English program. Equivalence Certificate: Candidates having foreign qualifications or qualifications other than those issued by Pakistani Boards must provide an equivalence certificate from the relevant competent authority. Compliance with University Rules: Applicants must fulfill all admission requirements, rules, and regulations prescribed by The University of Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin and relevant higher education authorities.
