Programme
Medical Laboratory Technology is a branch of medical science responsible for performing lab investigations relating to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. Due to an ever increasing demand of qualified medical lab technologist, the University of Rasul offers a 4-year (8 semester) full time BS degree program in Medical Lab Technology (BS-MLT). The program acquaints the students with the latest development in the field of medical lab technology and its related academic and applied aspects. It focuses on equipping students with knowledge and skills required to become a professional and competent medical lab technologist. The curriculum has been designed to train students in scientific rigor, technical know-how and reasoning skills. We believe in nurturing a multidisciplinary environment for students by offering a combination of social sciences and humanities education to broaden their scope of knowledge. Courses in logic and philosophy have been integrated to instil critical, interpretive, and behavioural skills in our students. The students are provided with the opportunities to work in hospitals and different laboratories to enhance their practical skills in advanced techniques and latest medical lab equipment. The faculty members of MLT are certified medical laboratory technologists with advanced degrees, varied clinical experiences and a diverse academic portfolio.
What you'll gain
1. Perform Diagnostics: Teach students how to run accurate tests in areas like hematology, microbiology, clinical biochemistry, and blood banking. 2. Handle Equipment: Train students to safely operate, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory instruments. 3. Ensure Quality: Instruct students on how to monitor quality control and maintain high standards of safety in lab work. 4. Work in Teams: Prepare graduates to collaborate with doctors and other health workers to diagnose and treat diseases. 5. Build Ethics: Instill strong professional ethics, responsibility, and accurate reporting of patient test results. 6. Support Research: Encourage participation in medical research projects and evidence-based clinical practices
