Dr. Shazia Nawaz is an Assistant Professor at the University of Rasul, Punjab, Pakistan, with expertise in bioinorganic chemistry. Dr. Nawaz holds a PhD degree from Monash University, Australia and has extensive experience in teaching, research, curriculum development, and academic administration. Her research interests include organometallic chemistry, metals in medicine, biological chemistry, antimicrobials, materials chemistry and polymer chemistry with publications in reputable national and international journals and presentations at academic conferences. Committed to fostering critical thinking and innovation, Dr. Nawaz actively supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research while contributing to quality assurance, curriculum enhancement, and community engagement initiatives. As a dedicated educator and researcher, Dr. Nawaz strives to promote academic excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of knowledge in her field, supporting the mission and vision of the University of Rasul.
Discovering new bioactive metal compounds as anti-inflammatory, antitumour and antimicrobial agents, development of new antimicrobial materials, synthesis of homo- and hetero-bimetallic metal cages and materials for medical imaging and therapeutics, and exploring metal-mediated anion rearrangements in main group organometallic complexes.
